Services / UX design + implementation
From a product problem
to a working interface.
I’m Matt Biehl. I work with product teams, founders, and SaaS teams to make complex products easier to use — connecting discovery, design, and frontend development.
Start with what’s getting in the way.
A new product, an established workflow, or scattered information. The work follows the problem, not a fixed package.
Discovery & research
Know which problem to solve.
A new idea, a difficult workflow, or competing requests can leave a team unsure where to start. I work with you to understand your users, the context, and the constraints before choosing a direction.
User and stakeholder interviews · Journey mapping · Design workshops
A shared view of the problem and priorities to guide design decisions.
Flows & prototypes
Make the next step make sense.
When a product is hard to navigate, adding another screen is not always the answer. I map the paths people need, explore interactions, and make prototypes your team can discuss and test with users.
User flows · Interaction design · Prototyping · Usability testing
A tangible experience to learn from before committing to the interface.
Interface design
Bring clarity to every screen.
Dense information and inconsistent patterns make everyday tasks harder. I shape the hierarchy, layout, and interface details so people can understand what matters and what to do next.
UI design · Responsive layouts · Accessible interaction patterns
A coherent interface direction, including the states and details that connect the journey.
Implementation
Carry the intent into the build.
Design decisions should survive beyond the prototype. I build frontend interfaces and work with your team on integration, keeping usability, responsive behavior, and accessibility part of implementation.
Frontend development · Integration · Interface refinement
A working interface, with design and implementation considered together.
I keep the reasoning behind the design close to the implementation, working with your team to make choices visible and test assumptions as we go.
- Frame it together. Start with your product, what you already know, and where you need help.
- Make it tangible. Use flows and prototypes to discuss trade-offs and learn from users.
- Connect it to the build. Refine the details against real interface behavior, not only static screens.
